Marine Parks Council
On 1 July 2015, the Marine Parks Council was replaced by the Parks and Wilderness Council. All statutory functions of the Marine Parks Council are now the responsibility of the Parks and Wilderness Council.
The Parks and Wilderness Council is required to carry out its functions under the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1972 along with the functions assigned to the Council under the Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary Act 2005, the Marine Parks Act 2007 and the Wilderness Protection Act 1992, and provides advice at the Minister’s request on any matter relating to the administration of these four Acts for which the Council has a legislative role.
